Don't you mean "sharpen your edges"? I'm always torn between boarding and winter climbing/walking. Well, to be honest I'm not torn at all - I'd always rather go boarding, but I feel a slight twinge of guilt when I admit this to fellow climbers.
I don't know why it should bother me - snowboarding is simply the most fun you can have with snow. I've climbed , skied, snowboarded, sledged, had snowball fights and built snowmen and I can categorically state that snowboarding is the most fun :)
